Hi there! Welcome to my website, Living Naturally with Tiara! I thought I would tell you a little bit more about myself and how I got to where I am today!

I graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Psychology with a concentration in Behavioral Neuroscience (aka research psychology, not clinical) in 2017. A year later in May my oldest was born, which pretty much brought my original career goals to a screeching halt and started me down a new path: natural living. Natural living wasn’t completely new to me when my son was born, I hardly ever went to the doctor when I was a child unless I really needed to and we used mostly homeopathic remedies when we were sick whenever we were able to do so. I was also starting to switch out items like aluminum containing deodorant and fluoride containing toothpaste and was starting to get an interest in herbal products when I was in college. After my son was born, that’s when I got my big wake up call to start going more natural. When my oldest was about a month old, he suddenly developed a nasty rash on his torso. So, I took him to his doctor and a dermatologist, who prescribed him with antifungal and antibiotic ointments that I was told to put on him multiple times a day. As the months went by, the rash got worse. At one point he was covered from elbow to knee and everywhere in between with itchy red bumps. On top of that, the palms of his little hands and soles of his little feet were covered in itchy fluid filled bumps like pimples. By the time he was six months old I was fed up with nothing working and I stopped going to the dermatologist and started asking for natural remedies to help heal him and his gut health that was wrecked by the antibiotics. By the time he was eight and nine months old I started taking him to a chiropractor and stopped taking him to the family doctor we were seeing. I did a little bit of this and that and learned about vitamins and things to keep myself and my family healthy, but wasn’t totally crunchy yet. When the Covid-19 pandemic hit in 2020, I finally quit hemming and hawing and really started taking our health and wellness seriously. I started my Facebook group Natural Holistic Living and Wellness to share the knowledge I was starting to gain from other ladies more experienced than me in the crunchy lifestyle.

Fast forward to November 2022 and my second son was born in my living room in a birth pool supervised by a very experienced homebirth midwife, her assistants a doula and of course my parents, husband and oldest son. Since then we have been slowly adjusting out conventional things in our home for healthier and cleaner alternatives. We now have a whole home water filtration system, air purifiers upstairs and downstairs, a whole home emf neutralizer and emf neutralizers for our portable devices, our cupboards are mostly filled with organic and non-gmo foods, we got rid of our microwave, our medicine is homeopathic remedies, herbal remedies and essential oils, our personal care items and cleaning products are made with real, natural and organic ingredients, and we’re looking into homeschooling our children, my sanity willing. It has been quite the journey going from mostly mainstream to mostly crunchy in such a short period of time. I am so thankful that I can now share my experiences and help teach others while continuing to learn myself!

I really owe it to my mom for using homeopathic remedies when I was growing up, to my kids (especially my oldest), to my husband (and really to all of my family) for joining me on this roller coaster of a journey and especially to the all of the friendly and informative ladies for setting me down the natural living path. Now with this blog I hope to continue to pass on that knowledge to you!

Thank you so much for joining me on this exciting adventure!
